GMA Immerse Conference

I was honored to be a part of the Immerse Conference a few weeks ago. Immerse if a conference put on by the Gospel Music Association (known as GMA around nashville), which is the organization that coordinates a lot of events and happenings for Christian music. They are also the team of people who pull off the Dove Awards each year. So needless to say, I was absolutely honored to be included in a panel on entrepreneurship within a christian environment.
I got the chance to talk about some of the stuff Orange Thread Media is doing, how we got our start and where we’re going… but the most important thing I got to do was help encourage and support the next wave of Christian musicians, artists, songwriters, and music business professionals. Many of the people in the room want to run their own company one day.
As you can imagine, we talked a lot about business, starting a business, when to NOT get debt (sorry, i’m a dave ramsey fan) and most importantly we got a chance to talk about relationships… and being excellent.
Relationships are the most important thing in the world, and we have positioned Orange Thread Media to put it’s money where it’s mouth is… so I want to introduce you to something we believe in and what we call our “coffee commitment”.
from the website:
One thing we really enjoy is getting a cup of coffee with good friends and sharing in life together. So… if you’re ever in or around the Nashville area, please look us up. Try emailing us or giving us a call… we would love to treat you to a cup of your favorite mocha, frappuccino or plain black coffee and get to know you!
Many of the participants at Immerse took me up on that offer, so I encourage you to as well… our team would LOVE to sit down and hear your story… as I said, Relationships are the most important thing in the world.
Relationships are WAY more important than triple-wide walls, multi-screen setups, environmental projection, content creation, twitter, blogs and anything to do with getting paid! They are the lifeblood of our humanity and without relationships we are empty and weak. Jesus called us to love one another, and walk with our brothers and sisters in Christ through this thing called “Life.”
