Belmont’s Summer Orientation Video
A few months ago our team got a chance to work with Belmont University again in producing their summer orientation intro video. It’s a video that we’ve done a few time before so we knew how the content needed to be structured, and that gave us the freedom of being able to really think creatively in the way we shot it.
So, we decided to use the Canon 7D (two of them actually). It really allowed us to get some fantastic depth of field and make the whole video feel a lot more creative and clean. For those of you who don’t know the Belmont culture very well, Creativity is one of the more obviously characteristics of that community.
That’s our team working their magic… It was hot as heck too! So we were glad to have found some great shade in this shot!
Here’s another frame of the video to show the power of the depth of field we got.

and another.

Man, i’m not kidding you… the depth of field added so much to the final project… take a look for yourself below. We’re actually wrapping up the video intros (as I type this) for their welcome week programming which happens next week. We’ll post that in a few weeks once that all calms down!
Here’s the video so you can take a look at the final product:
Anyways, hope that inspires you to think about depth of field when shooting your video content… Give us a shout if we can help you with your next project!
