Our Name
Almost everywhere we go, and everyone we work with… eventually ask us the questions “What does Orange Thread mean?” or “Where did you come up with that name?” We enjoy sharing the answers to it, so here it is…
Our name is nothing more than an extension of who and what we are. They act as the four cornerstones in which our business and interaction with others are built on. Teamwork, Uniqueness, Simplicity and Strength.
ORANGE
Orange represents both Teamwork and Uniqueness. You see, orange is not a primary color (we all know this)… so to make orange we have to take two primary colors and mix them (red and yellow). What we tell people is that this teamwork of colors is what we get to partake in on every project, event or product we provide for our clients. But of all the secondary colors that could represent our company, why orange? Simple. Orange is proven to be the most noticable color of secondary colors. Research shows that the color orange is recognized more often than green and purple by the human eye. Meaning, we bring something Unique and add a noticeable element of excellence to your event.
THREAD
So… The thread is just as important. Imagine holding in your fingers a single thread… one of the first things you’ll notice is its simplicity. We don’t like to convolute things and make anything anymore difficult or cluttered than it needs to be. Our work is simple, and excellent (without boasting of course!). Aside from simplicity, a thread always is a part of a bigger picture, and thus represents the strength we provide to your event, project or product. Ever looked really closely to a t-shirt, blanket, towel or pair of jeans? If you could remove one thread from the middle of the quilt or t-shirt, the whole thing would fall apart. because even though one thread may be somewhat fragile, when put together in a unique, team driven, purposeful environment there is strength unlike any other!
Beyond those intentional factors that helped us narrow down the name, here’s some other things we think make this concept really cool!
A. an Orange Thread is the most common color of thread that is used on jeans to weave the denim together. take a look at the jeans you’re wearing now… do they have an orange thread on them?
B. Orange is the color of creativity and innovation. As urban legend has it, they say that if you need change in life, just burn an orange candle for 7 days.
C. Orange is the color of balance and peace. Many Psychologists say that wearing the color orange a lot will bring about peace and balance to your life as well as increase a sense of exploration and play!
D. Orange is a very healthy fruit. Doctors say that eating oranges regularly help to fight off airborne germs during winter and fight off common colds and the flu.
E. Orange Juice is good. and most people start their day with it.
F. Orange Juice is also a very good way to lower cholesterol and keep blood pressure low. again… stress free!
G. a Thread can also be a very technical terms when talking about discussion boards and forums on a webiste… (give us a break… we work on computers a lot!)
okay, thats enough… we’re starting to stretch the idea… and you get the point. We like to have purpose, meaning and a reason for what we do and this is it.
This is who we are.
Our ultimate goal isn’t to make a ton of money or build an empire.. and we tell the people we work with this same thing all the time. Our goal is to meet people’s needs where they are and try to figure out how to we can help take their product, event or concert to the next level.
